HOLY CRAP!!!!! LARRY was in UPSTATE NY yesterday!!!!!
:D
Dude.
*mind blown*
...taking a vaca with family....gahhhhhh!!!! *G* cuteness. ^_^ (Actually..think he said he's here for a few weeks...which means he's still here!!!! *flips out*)

Can still listen to the full interview off msn here...over an hour long, be warned. ~_^ (There's also a partial transcript...go read, cuteness abounds. *g*)

Adam was in Nepal, specifically, and wasn't there at the start of it..
Bono: "He's always had a bit of the wanderlust, our Adam, and he's out searching enlightenment, and God knows we need that."
Interviewer: "So, you really *don't* know what he's doing there?" [Edge was in NY, and hadn't even known Lar and Bono were there, too...even tho fans around the world knew days ago, but..*giggles*]
Edge: "I presume he's walking, because I don't think the public transport is very good in the Himilayas. Probably just enjoying the scenery."

Title of "Electrical Storm" came out of the nervous times we live in, post-911...but ended up just being a song about lovers trying to clear the air.

Larry on the vid: "It was the hardest day's work I've ever had. *everyone laughs* ...An odd, but an interesting experience...I enjoyed it, but I was a little alarmed when I saw it. ...you watch it back on tv, and" Bono: "-you're a porn star" Larry: "-a porn star..Electrical porn"...[*hehe* ..remember that, is bound to come up in the future..*evil giggles*]
Said Samantha Morten was "wonderful", tho.
*GLARES*

Hardest/easiest albums:
Lar: hardest: "Achtung Baby", before that "October", cos of stolen lyrics..."the reasons that records are hard to make has more to do with external factors than internal ones, I've found."
easiest: "Zooropa"
Edge: "Boy was a great record to make cos we had so much time to prepare the arrangements for the songs", they just got to experiment in the studio and all.
Bono: "Boy was fun", in and out in three weeks.
hardest: "Achtung Baaaby" because of tension in the band, etc. "..that, and Zooropa...we didn't know where the walls were. Then I suppose on Pop we walked into a few walls! ..but since the first album, Pop was the funnest to make." ..finishing it, they died, ran out of steam, but he loves the song-writing and all.

Bono's asked if he talks to himself constantly. People laugh. Edge points out this is a very good question. Bono says he's too busy ranting to listen to himself. *g*

If they knew twenty years ago what they know now, would they've done anything different?
Edge: "I would've kept up the bagpipe lessons I let slip.."
Bono: "..You took the high road there, didn't you?"
Edge points out that they're ridiculous perfectionists, and they'd fix things, but really there's nothing he'd change.
Bono: "Well, I'd start with the *mullet*... I'm glad we're onto the Best Of the nineties. The mullet, I'm, uhm, was definitely, uhm..I don't think people should ever look like their hair has been ironed."
Interviewer: "You talking about Larry's hair or yourself?"
*GLARES*

The Sarajevo concert on the Pop tour was one of their best, they decide..
..and post-911 gigs here..Bono: "oh, God...that was completely off the map." ...they were the first big band to come into NYC afterwards...the names on the screens were to remind everyone that these were *people*, not statistics..
Bono on the Madison Square gig: "I've never seen a rock'n'roll show where everyone is weeping, even the band.."..and people were seeing names of people they knew..."to be let *in* to that level of intimacy, it was a risk, and, ehrm, but I think people knew that we were doing it in a very respectful way."

"This is the biggest chatroom --there's no walls in it! Just coffee. Where's Adam tho, have we found him?" - Larry, I think.
"Yes, I'm here! ..I'm in!" *bursts out laughing* He sounds so posh!!! ...it's the year 2057 to people in the Himilayas. Edge: "Adam, that makes you in your nineties! How d'you feel?" Adam: "Actually, I feel...I feel young as a spring chicken. Must be all of the resort Ganges water, here."
Bono: "Have you been in the Ganges, Adam?"
Adam: "The Ganges, that's a river."
Bono: "Yeah, I know, have you been in it?"
Adam: "It looks a little dirty."

Dude...this sounds so like a fanfic!!! *laughs*

OMG!!!!!!! SOMEONE ASKED IF ADAM HAS A SPOON COLLECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Well, I do *now*, after the Simpsons.."
*mad giggles*
Score.

Interviewer: What's the most trouble drinking has gotten you into? Larry?
"I'm not ready to discuss that..not in public...I've uh, I've a family to look after..."

The most important event in Lar's life was when the Irish gov't had too many drivers liscences? I guess? and they just gave them out. And Lar got one. *laughs*
...Bono says a lot of people have critiqued this, and they tend to point to himself as a bad example. *mad giggles*

Adam's most important event was his own birth.
*bursts out laughing*
"..nine months after my conception...that's pretty big...I'm still getting over it..."

Fav U2 song! w007!

Adam: "I can't think of what it's called.." *laughs* "It's off the last album, it's the one that Bono always dedicated to his father?"
B: "Kite."
Adam: "Yeah, Kite.."
any that he cringes at?
"Oh, I love *all* of them! ..no.."

Larry: ..songs don't make him cringe cos they're bad, it's just that he thinks they're brilliant, but he's mad at how they *could* have been done so much better...claims he's *not* the most critical in the band, they all are. *g*

Last major ruck they all had:
Lar: "..definitely during All That You Can't Leave Behind, there was a big one, beacuse, just, somebody got a dig because they weren't, ehrm, they weren't playing fast enough!"
Interviewer asks how these disagreements and things manifest themselves?
Lar: "Well, you might just be sittin' there, and then next thing you know there's a foot in yer ass..." *laughter*
Bono says there's a very simlpe rule in this band: "Fast songs are better than slow songs."
Interviewer: "It's physical?"
Lar: "..it's physical thing, foot in ass, as a sign, that's play faster..."

Edge: fav song: changes all the time. *g* "This week, it's probably "Running to Stand Still"."
Bono: "So you're on the smack, are you?"
Edge: cringe-song: "I would quite happily never hear a song called "Jerusalem"...again....it's even more over-the-top than we were normally capable of."

Bono: fav: "Miss Sarajevo"

Q: Which band member would be most likely to avoid a dinner check?[*my $'s on Lar, cos he's still got his first communion $. Or Bono, just because.* *g*]
Edge: "...I think we're all very competetive in getting to the dinner check the *quickest*...our rows tend to be, "give that to me!" "no, no, give that to *me*", "give that to me, you bollocks", "you got it last week"!" [*is giggling like mad at Edge trying to sound like cranky U2s*]
"Bono's the most devious when it comes to *getting * the check...I tend to get wrapped up in conversation, Larry's about the same as myself; Adam, Adam doesn't do the dinner thing as much..."
Bono: "..he brings you 'round to your house, and he kills the fattest cow."
Adam always produces the finest, most expensive wines for people, tho he doesn't drink it himself.
Adam is asked if he's a good cook. "I'd like to be better... ..but I *do* like to put on the apron now and then."
*Ananda bursts out laughing*
Interviewer: "I'm sure it suits you."
*Ananda laughs even more*
Bono: "..just to go out, Adam..."

Spare time:
Edge goes to the movies and the theatre. an upcoming movie, "In America", he says is amazing. ...oh, shit. Samantha Morten is in it. >_<

Larry was the most suited to the role for the vid. *giggles* ..so he was forced into it.
Bono: "You'll notice Edge is very difficult to get into a bath!"
(*raises eyebrows* *grins manically* faaaanfic time! ^_______^)

Lar's spare time: doing other U2 stuff
Thinks coin and stamp collecting are very interesting hobbies, but he hasn't got the time to do them.
Bono asked if that'll be on his tombstone, Lar said yeah, the things he wished he'd done...*giggles*

Bono: "I've a load of peculiar hobbies and obsessions." ..but he's doing paintings with his daughters for a book! *huge grin* ..(read the thing on msn, they've the full quotes.)
Gavin and Maurice Seezer are doing the music for a movie...gah. how sweet. *g*

Adam's spare time: travelling, but also just being in a city, seeing gigs, going to book and music shops..*g*

And now we're up to where I caught it before. *laughs* ..oh dear, this got long. I don't care. Wonderful stuff. I love U2. ^_^
