Yes, I'm back and it's not -- well, ok, it *is* Saturday morning, technically, but, didn't end up staying at the relay all night, cos I was mad tired this afternoon....that, and Laur was leaving around midnight, and I get along ok with everyone else but I don't know them as well and I frickin' NEED SLEEP so yeah. And my feet hurt. *g* Springapalooza was cool, mostly... my face is sunburnt whee. *g* Sneaking into school was MAD easy, my *goodness*.. parked my bike over at the middle school, started walking over to the hs, had forgotten that there's no walking space outside and between teh middle and jr high schools, so ended up trying a random door on the side of the hs.. peeked in, saw it was passing time, figured someone'd let me in..and I tried the door and it was unlocked. *laughs* So, walked in, walked thru the halls a bit, walked right out doors on the opposite side of the building. Headed down to the field, helped set up and whee. *shakes head, laughing* Great fun. A few teachers and people saw me, heck, we walked right by the principal but either none of them cared or they didn't realise that I've already graduated, sooooo.. *hehe* score. Face-painting was slow, partly cos of our noisy invasive neighbors (the all-black "Multicultural Club"), I think (no-one could see us, and their music was mad loud and it was the same cd of rap&etc ALL DAY *groans*). But I painted Matrix-code on Laur's and Aneya's arms.. which was random, and took FOREVER (Jayj asked me to do it on his arm as well but I'd just spent half an hour doing up those first two so I went NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! and collapsed onto the table. so he had me paint a big yellow and red flower on his cheek instead. *mad giggles* yay for Jayj.). Highlight of the day was DEFINITELY tying up Mr. B. ^______^ Erik and a few other people - ok it was basically all of SFE, from what I can gather *g* - had some nice yellow and orange electrical tape. And they decided that they should tackle and tie up B. So, of course, we all went along too, I brought my camera to take pictures of it all. *hehehe* So B's over there, playing frisbee (despite his broken hand-wrist-whatever - don't worry we were careful not to hurt it *g*), and not paying much attention to the ten or so kids coming up in a large group behind him. Then Erik grabbed him from behind and everybody joined in, trying to hold the now-thrashing-B still and wrap him up like mad in tape. *dies laughing* It was frickin' AWESOME. B was all, 'You think you've got me---' and we're like, dude, we so do, just give it up.. he picked up Erik's leg and tried to knock him over, all tried wresting away but eventually kinda gave in a little cos there was mad tape all around his legs and feet and the rest of him. So then someone (I'm thinking it was Erik but I'm not sure) yelled for someone to grab B's feet and we'd all carry him off. Everyone but me and another picture-taker grabbed hold, and hoiseted him up. *hehehehe* Then we're like, where should we take him? then someone's like, 'To the dunking booth!!!' So we've got like, ten kids carrying a struggling taped-up teacher all the way up the hill to the dunking booth, walking thru crowds of random people, B all trying to get free, squirming all around and twsiting around and we very nearly lost him a few times but they kept hold, me and the other girl were dashing back and forth and all around trying to get clear shots of all of this (I must have like, ten pictures *mad evil giggles* ..I'm makin' a webpage, I think --- oh, *dude*, I'll put it up on the SFE page! ^_^ ). Walked past several teachers and tons of students, who first gave us veyr strange looks, and then sometimes laughed. Mad fun. Walked right past Salvaggio (the principal), and she vaguely wondered what we were doing, but then she didn't care at all, so it's all good. (Not that she - or anyone - *could* have stopped us at that point but y'know *hehehehehe*). So we stuck B under the..whatever they call it, it's not *really* a dunking booth cos the water comes out a pipe over their heads (or, in B's case, torso, cos we didn't wanna get his cast all wet - we're evil but not *truly* so, so e had him like, half-laying across the chair instead of sitting up on it or whatever). And he got wet. And then they let him go. And he said he was glad he *hadn't* escaped over the pavement cos it woulda been bad. *g* And it took him like, forever to get all the tape off cos there were MAD amounts down around his ankles! *laughs* 'Til he whipped out the pocketknife he had on him (which, it just occured to me, he should *not* have had on schoolgrounds, but, y'know..it's B *g*). Also of great interest was the DDR pads that the Robotics team made themselves. One broke partway thru the day but *I'm* impressed. ^_^ ..and am just generally in AWE of these peoples' mad crazy DDR skillz. I mean, I know I'm still a complete noob cos I've only played it twice but *still*, these people are just..yeah. wow. *g* Caught bits and pieces of the bands that played on and off throughout the day..some decent, some less so, as usual, but all in all not bad. There was this one moment, tho... we were walking back down to the track to get back to our table after..I dunno, prolly looking at DDR or something (Laur and Daf and Aneya all played - I was far too intimidated to even *try* it by then *g*)... and we walked past whatever band was playing. And, as is my wont, I watched the drummer as we went by. Didn't know who the kid was at all, but.. he had short blond hair, a sleeveless shirt, definitely drummer-arms..and he was doing the open-mouthed thing that Lar (and I know other drummers too but it reminds me most of Lar) does, when he gets all into it... and I just got this sudden *flash* of what it would have been like to watch U2 playing back when *they* were in high school, back when they were Feedback, and the Hype..... I dunno, it was just cool. *smiles* Then later I got ousted from my own face-painting business cos random new-Leo Jamie started in on it while we went to play DDR and then I came back and everyone was lined up for her and.. *sighs* yeah. I dunno. There's no real reason it should have bothered me but.. stupid as it is, it kinda did. *shrugs* But yeah. Fun time, in general. Came back, was mad tired from sun and riding (it was windy enough to make riding not-so-fun, and I'd been in a hurry and had to get film down at Eckerd's too in the morning), got some food, talked to merani, listened to her NYSSMA solo again (good luck tomorrow, btw ^_^), then came up here and took a very nice nap. Was interrupted several times by merani/devon SCREAMING my name for apparently no particular reason, ignored it and went back to sleep. *g* Got up about five, tho I was still mad tired, called Laur, got food, left around 6. MapQuest got its Lyell Aves/Sts/Rds/whatever mixed up, thus, so did we, so it took us rather longer to get to Spencerport HS than it should've, but we got there, and found our peeps and our tents, and it was all good. ^_^ Walking-bit didn't actually start 'til what, 8.30 or so, I think.. we got the obligatory lame far-too-large t-shirts, they talked, had all the cancer survivors come up for recognition.. which was all well and good but I wound up getting not only sad for all these people (one girl was, 11 years old, I think? and she's survived 8 years with it..she was diagnosed when she was only 2 or 3.... there were two women there who'd had it for thirty-some years...and Mr. Molinari, and both Mrs. *and* Mr. Fleming were up there too), but also randomly paranoid when I saw how many they were..and the ages were mostly older but there were a few people my own age as well..and it's just...it's not like it's neccessarily something you get from doing or not doing things, you don't catch it from anyone you just *get* it...and tho there were (by Laur's estimation) maybe 500 people alrogether there, and it was maybe 30-50 who were cancer surivors..there's still a lot. As there were a LOT of lumineras lit around the track, not all but probably most in memory of someone who *didn't* survive it... But yeah. Walked a lot. Talked with Jamie P. a lot, Melinda some, Laur a TON ^_^... had food, listened to music from different groups performing, talked..walked..yeah. *g* Best part, I think, was when they lit all the lumineras (really just candles sitting in sand inside of paper bags..but they looked all lovely lit ^_^) and shut off the mega-bright track-lights..and had a guy playing Amazing Grace and things on bagpipes as we all walked around the track a few times. *smiles* ..granted, that's when I realised just how many lumineras there were, but..it was pretty and it was sad but nice, y'know? plus I was with Laur and we had lots of nice good conversation tonight, which was wonderful. (For one thing, she's allaid my fear of making an arse out of myself at the first wedding I end up going to. *g*) Got back about midnight, and I'm sleepy now. Was gonna get some preliminary coding done on here, but..I'm getting sleepy. 'night all...
