THERE IS A NEW U2 SONG!!!!!!!!!!! It premiered on KROQ like an hour or two ago and they just replayed it and I managed to catch it on the online stream and someone on interference managed to rip it and I grabbed it the minute I could and re-uploaded it to ysi because I'm sure that first link is probably dead by now (given that interference died for a minute when the song was posted!). It's ripped off the web stream so it's pretty tinny sounding, and the tail end of Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees" got played over the beginning of it, but it's more than enough to get an idea of the hugeness. ^______________^

As other have said, it's VERY Beatles/Lennon sounding, but there's plenty of U2 gorgeousness, and, as ever, it sounds COMPLETELY different from anything else out there right now. Babies. <3 The strings are making me mentally place it alongside Stuck and SYCMIOYO a bit, but, it has plenty of amazingness to save it from the.. idk, I don't want to say cheesiness, but, idek, it's gorgeous in between those couple of moments. Gorgeous and huge and vast and huge, and people are saying it's the completed version of that beach clip 400 that leaked like years ago (which I haven't listened to in a long while so idk but enough people have said so I'm alright in taking their word). It's gorgeous.

...this will be officially released on the upcoming U218, which I pathetically didn't know about until just now, but as it's yet another Best Of, I'm really not too excited about it. Do we really need ANOTHER one?? wth. Though, this one is what a Best Of is actually SUPPOSED to be - a single disc summarization of a band's hits. So, "The Hits", but without "I Will Follow". :p And it has the studio version of "Saints" and this new one--- lmfao I just realised I never even told you the title!!! "Window in the Skies". I love that title. <333 Anyway, I'm still going to have to get the silly thing, redundant as it is - there'll be a version with an extra dvd of songs'n'things, and a dvd version with all the videos. (Details of all these things are over on u2.com, for anyone who'd actually like specifics.) Idk, I'm just annoyed, this is basically just a money-maker, and while I won't begrudge my babies earning some money for all the wonderfulness they've given the world, it's still a little grr. C'mon. Leave the album as just "The Hits" for the completists and non-fans, and give us new stuff on an EP (like U2-7 was) and make us happy. Also, I love that photo dearly, but it has been EVERYWHERE in the past few years, and 1981 is *not* at all the image the general public has of you all.

Ok fangirly rantiness aside... BABIES!!!!! Oh I missed. The song is huge and beautiful, and now my intent on being productive today has been COMPLETELY FECKING RUINED lmao. It's 1 already!!! I wanted to have either shopping or dishes done by now. gahhhhhhh...
