Blah, I feel like shit for doing this, but I'm nabbing a torrent of the JT re-release for now. I want to be sure I have enough for rent this month to actually pay my share on time for once, and I haven't decided if I can do that and buy the lovely huge set or not. Or if I'll just throw it on my Christmas list.
But I
can not wait to have a copy of Waves of Sorrow, at the least. I'm.. uh, going to try to get caught up on NaNo today, but I had some fact-checking to do real quick. The Book of Enoch? which I'm drawing a ton of my inspiration from. I wanted to check on how old it was, and when it was re-discovered.. So far it's at least as old as 2 BC, and was rediscovered around the 1600s, with some fragments turning up in the centuries following, only:
It's been considered canonical in Ethiopian traditions all along.
Now I realised this, but only just made the connection today, HI Ethiopia! which is what Wave of Sorrow is about, both the famine there and their rich Biblical history, the Queen of Sheba who Solomon hung out with, all these other things..
So, kindasorta need the song now, given that I'm currently in midst of a scene where some Phistos are raiding the library of a priest who's researching, well,
themselves.
