So how much do you think Tom (Mr. Clean lines Simple shapes Metal finish Modernist) would kill me if I (someday) went with a kitchen along these lines:
Not down to the detail, but I think I've decided those are the colors I want - light, refreshing yellows and blues, all cozy and Swedish. :) (I'd been trying to sort out just the shade of blue, and this dusty sort of blue is nice; either that, or Swedish blue, which is a nice medium warm sort of blue.) It just strikes me as a lovely color combination for a kitchen. I wouldn't be cranky cooking in a kitchen in those colors, there's a lovely freshness to them. I would actually be inspired to keep it clean and nice-smelling.
I'm also thinking I want a sage-ish green bathroom. I thought about blue, but every other bathroom in the world is blue, and while I like blue a lot, I want something a little different. A faded sort of sage-spring green (not mint or seafoam, more yellowish green than blueish), with soft white or cream accents, it'd be very relaxing and peaceful.
I am also determined to have a library. A room - it doesn't have to be large, but it is going to have the walls covered in books, and it is going to be warm and cozy and have pretty old things scattered around, and preferably have a window seat but ridiculously comfy chairs will do as well. I will try to keep my dreams of Phisto-ish décor relegated to that one room. I'm thinking rich-colored woods and dark red walls - again, not that you'll see much of the walls, because there will be lots and lots of books. (My books would already take up... probably five or six feet of wall space, floor-to-ceiling. And that's not all of them. And Tom has books too.)
Speaking of Phistos. I bought a ream of copy paper that's pre-3-hole-punched. I bought a new binder (to move all the stories I'm not working on into). I bought some more of my favorite pens (Pentel's RSVP, fine point <333), only in blue instead of black, so they'll show up better against print.
And I've printed out my entire NaNo novel, and have started the (probably year-long) process of editing. And re-arranging. And re-writing. And fixing. And correcting.
I had my first Tim Horton's morning in ages yesterday (stupid 1-9 shifts!), and spent a gorgeous three hours curled up in my corner spot by the window, an amazing golden morning sun spilling over everything, listening to the second Moulin Rouge soundtrack...
...and I got through the first part, and a few pages of the second. That was it. And I still need to change some things in the first part - I checked the plausibility of, uh, some unpleasant physical details, with Tom last night, and I need to change a few things. And the murder scene needs stretched out a little more anyway.
I need to spend some time on Mackie's section today, I was going through it last night and I think it might need restructured. I've never done this much hardcore work on a store before - it really does feel like construction work at this stage, cutting out chunks and rebuilding the story in places.
And still doing all my little detail work, trying to decide if a comma or an ellipsis would be better in a particular sentence. I'm freaking insane.
But, yeah, so my cd of the month (compliments of yourmusic, which I will again plug) was the second Moulin Rouge soundtrack, which I'd always meant to get but never did. It's pretty, uh.. omfg. I haven't watched the movie in ages, and this disc has more of the movie-versions of the songs, and I was floored all over again. (Mel - the reason I understand why you're so head over heels for Sweeney Todd is because I had Moulin Rouge *my* senior year. Speaking of which, I still need to see that. >_<#) I need to watch.
I also need to watch my ZooTV dvd, which Mom got me for Christmas, because there is Mackie and I miss him and want to see him. <3 (Also it should help with writing him - none of my characters have distinctive enough voices yet.)
Aaaaand I need to put up the new shower curtain, wash dishes, decorate my table for Valentine's, finish my fluffy white scarf, wash a load of jeans, and start on my taxes.
I need to get off the internet. xp
