I like making pretty things to stick in the Penny Saver. Some of the random trivia things look fairly dull (I'm thinking it's probably not the best idea to make toooo many bits of fill that look nicer than the ads!), but now and again I find a photo and make it all a prettiness.
In more general news... Tom had a safe and generally nice trip to Long Island to help his father clean out the house, and brought back all sorts of goodies. Including a 5lb. bottle of liquid mercury, but we'll not get into that. But also an ancient computer chip and a big pile of metal and twisted wires that is actually RAM. Like each intersection of the hair-thin wire is a bit. A BIT. Of RAM. It's so freaking cool. And his mom passed along two old jewelry boxes full of bits and pieces for me, most of it things with broken chains but a few really neat things (like the star necklace I'm wearing today), and the one box is *really* pretty, once I get it dusted, a little wooden cabinet type with drawers, and a glass door with an etching of an old-fashioned ship on it.
After Tom got back, I did three really dumb things that made him very frustrated and really quite ready to kill me - and with good reason, but it was lack of forethought on both sides. Resolved now, and I suppose it's good to know that we can get mad at each other and still stick with each other, yes? So it was a rough week, but this one has been much better.
Survived another St Patty's at the Paper Factory - was exhausted, but survived. Penny Saver might cull my hours a little, so it won't be quite a 12-hour day anymore, which I think is alright, there's really nothing for me to do Thursday mornings anyway. (Though I know the real reason is that they want to back out of driving me down here every Thursday morning, and just have Mary pick me up when she comes in. Cheap bastards. ;p But that's alright, because while Tracy's alright I like Mary much better.) I could use the couple extra free hours each week, I've been at Paper Factor 5-9 after Penny Saver 9-1 the last two Fridays, and I worked last Sunday, and ick.
I neeeed to go shoe shopping, I realised I've had these sneakers for like two years or so, and they're pretty icky looking. Plus that's got to be partly why my feet/ankles/calves always hurt so bad after a day at the Paper Factory, there can't be much support left in them at this point. I don't know when I'll get the chance to, I want to get over to Payless. I have the time tomorrow, but not the transportation. Anyway I need to buy a ham tomorrow, and decide what sort of glaze I'm making this year. :)
