3.22.2003

Ooog... again, with the need for catching-up! arg. *sighs* Will get to it eventually, don't worry...

3.19.2003

Ok, so, apologies to anyone I've tried talking to on aim tonight..but I'm *barely* keeping my eyes open here, I'm afraid I've been barely coherent, hardly answering, scarcely comprehending, and/or no help at all...oog. need sleep..

But, since I'm only vaguely conscious, and thus, easily amused... it's time, once again, for...
QUIZZES!!!!!!!
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

..oh come now, I know you can barely contain your excitement...*giggles*

YOu see the world in Neutral
Neutral:
Harmony and balance is key. You don't look at the
world in a negative or positive way and you'll
never judge or assume a situation- you just
look at the facts. People like you are peaceful
and accepting.

What color do you see the world in?
brought to you by Quizilla

(actually, I tend to see it in hyper-real colours..not that anyone but me knows what I mean by that, but yeah. *g*)

You're a Motherly little Girlfriend
-Motherly- You're the motherly type. You love to
take care of the one you love, and generally
you can be a bit overprotective and possessive,
but you know, that isn't always such a bad
thing. At least you'll be a good mom in the
future.

What Kind of Girlfriend Are You?

*face-palm* ...why does this answer not surprise me? ..mother, older-sister...gah.. (I mean, I like being that way..most of the time..only..sometimes? ...it just sucks.)

What office supply are YOU?
What Office Supply Are You?

But dude, look! It's like, my favourite *kind* of eraser!!! score. ^____^ (Well, these buggers and kneaded erasers, just cos they kick arse. *g*)

Coconut
Fuzzy Coconut! You are a fuzzy coconut. You live on
Glucose and live in a tree like a crazy mofo
with leprosy. You have been mistaken for a
bowling ball and probably identify with the
Lion King because they sing "I've got a
lovely bunch of coconuts.."

What Fuzzy Thing Are You?

*mad giggles* they said mofo! "lookin' for to save my, save my souuuul..." (*holds a plastic spoon at the ready to thwap certain people with if they start going on about little red boats again* *hehe*)

Smirk
You're the smirk,a frown-smile hybrid that's a
little bit cocky and usually associated with
evil or arrogant,but attractive people.You
probably just don't give a damn,but it's
everyone else's fault if you don't because
you're too awesome to have any real faults.

What Kind of Smile are You?

Score. (This is apparently what happens when you've got an Adam living in your closet... ^_~ )

Sure, *now* it works! arg. ok. more soon? maybe? who knows. I'm so frickin' tired! =_=

damn. yup. >_<#

Blogger? still on crack?

Alright, I've got some time here before I head in to SFE... should unpack, but I might fall asleep if I try it now. So, to begin...
Home from Fredonia Thursday night. Went out to Jitter's with Daf and Laur, and we had a great time just hanging out and stuff. Walked back home singing "Party Girl" cos it was Adam's birthday. So it was all fun. ^_^
Friday was mostly spent rushing around like a psychopath trying to get ready...well, that, and merani-chan had HYPERPSYCHOCRAZY friends over. Which is always..well..interesting, to say the least. and matantis had had random people over since Thursday night...inc. Himeros. We talked a bit, and... fuck. *sighs* I've got some thinking to sit down and do this break.....
Friday night, left here around 6, Dad took me to the airport. I was a bit nervous, what with security, and flying by myself, and everything...but I've been at the Rochester airport a thousand times, I'm comfortable there, so it wasn't too bad. Dad had to leave me while I was in line to get down into the concourse..he gives me this big megahuge hug and nearly squished the living breath outta me..and kept looking back, I was like, Dad, I'll be fine, don't worry! ..and it was funny cos this older lady who was standing there checking tickets waited 'til he was outta earshot, then said, "It's okay, Daddy, she's a big girl now." *giggles* It was cute.
Waited in line awhile, got all the metal off of me (note to self: do NOT wear yer shitload of bracelets and necklaces when yer gonna be flying!), no trouble there, waited some more, got on the plane. Had a middle-seat for both flights, wasn't bad, tho. JetBlue frickin' rocks. They're great. Not only were the tickets massively cheaper than everyone elses' (tho still too high, imo, but it was $100 vs. $300+!), the seats were all nice and big and comfy, and there's a little tv on the back of each seat. With directTV. Which, sadly, cuts out on you about every five-ten minutes on average..but only for a few seconds. It's cool, tho. So, I sat there, watched out a window as Rochester turned into a thousand tiny golden lights and dropped away below me... Listened to Sigur Ros a little, sketched a bit, then poked around the tv channels...and what do I find? A live Sinead O'Connor concert!!!!! Score!!! ^____^ So, I sat there and blissfully watched that. (Yes, people, she does have hair now...it's very short, but it's there. xp She's one of the best female singers out there, tho, period, so shush.) They talked with her and some other random people...and I think they were in Ireland - I know the concert was..gah. so pretty! and may I state for the record that I *looooove* the Dublin accent. Gorgeous... (..and it makes me think of Lar. *g*)
The flight was crazy frickin' short - 50 minutes total, but prolly only like, half an hour or something actually 'way up in the air. Looked out the window again as we started descending...wow? yeah. So many lights down there...strung out in perfectly straight and measured lines...as far as I could see.....
Plane lands, I'm all excited cos I'm in NYC and I get to meet Megs in a matter of minutes!!! yaaaaaay!!!! :D
So, I'm wandering along, following people and signs until I find the baggage claim.
Which is frickin' HUGE. (Looked familiar, tho...did we stop by JFK on the way to or from Italy? or do big airport baggage-claims all kinda look the same?)
So....yeah. I wandered like, allllll the way down the length of this thing, scanning the crowds for Megs and Mike (yay for the internet and sending photos back and forth?!). I finally spotted them, approached slowly trying to make absolutely *certain* it was them so I wouldn't make an arse out of myself, and they were facng the other way, so I snuck up behind and tapped Megs on the shoulder - "Hi!" "Oh my Gawd, HI!!!" and we hugged and were psycho-happy and it was very very cool. ^___^
Eventually, we found my bag, and went out to Mike's car. Headed to this diner to grab a bit of food..just got like, fries and crap cos none of us were really hungry...but I'm in there and just, phewph, my eyes were, what, big as dinnerplates? from the time I got off that plane! *laughs* I was just like...wow.
Hung out and talked a bit, then headed to Megs' family's apartment over in Queens, which isn't far at all from JFK. Got in, introductions were made and all, and Megs and I hung out and talked. And gushed about U2. And stuff. Until, what, 3, 4am? yeah. ^_^
They had a nice fold-out couch in the living room, which became my bed, so it was all cool. (And yes Megs, I was perfectly comfortable, and warm, and everything else.. *smiles* Honestly, tho, I was. You know me, I'm used to sleeping in 30-some degree temperatures. *g*)

Saturday, Mike drove us into NYC, we listened to some of the Edge-cd I made for Megs.. (I *think* she likes it... *mad giggles* ..she was like, I don't even know, completely obliterated or something by a few of the songs - "Suspicious Minds", for one...*g*)
Left the car at a garage, and walked around awhile... they tell me we went thru part of Manhatten, then Central Park, and a bit of the Village. (I'm just goin' with what they said cos..well..yeah. clueless. I couldn't find my way home from Fredonia, so..yeah.) But dude, like...wow. *laughs* We went into a couple of record shops down there...and...*mind blown*. Y'know how we're all proud of and amazed by the House of Guitars around here, we're all like, wow, that place's great, you can find all *sorts* of great stuff there? Right. You've got bunches of smaller, somewhat more organised places like that..err, well, there were like, two or three within the small area that we walked. Which's still a lot, in terms of concentration of stores like that, y'know? or something. ignore me, I'm so frickin' out of it right now... *g*
In any case, Megs and I blissfully perused the maaaaaaassive amounts of old LPs and stuff. wow. frickin' awesome. Megs found Cactus World News!!! I was like, dude, that's awesome!!! ..only it's the one I already have. So Megs actually ended up buying it, which was just very cool. Cos they're great. *g* We looked around at the *bunches* of U2 bootlegs these places had... and I mean, they weren't priced *too* badly, most around $10 or so, and Megs tells me the boots at these places are usually *really* good quality. Most of what they had, I already have, or have parts of, or *know* I can just download off of u2bloodredsky, so I didn't bother, but she picked up a few..and, admittedly, they *were* full of nice new pictures we'd never seen before. score. ^___^
Wandered about for awhile, walked through Central Park for about an hour..it *is* really nice, only there's still far too many people for my personal taste, but..*g* Ran into a bunch of unicyclists, a few performers of various sorts, bunches of adorable little kids running all over and climbing on a few of the giant rocks...saw the John Lennon memorial there...
We stopped into a Starbucks for a minute (they very nearly literally *are* on every corner in NY! ..meanwhile we have, what, maybe two? in the whole Rochester area? *laughs*), then walked around some more... stopped into this Mexican-food place for dinner. (Couple of cute waiter-boys, which wasn't a bad addition. *g*)
Where I was brutally reminded of the differences in prices in NYC...oog.
Not that they let me pay for *any* of it - that night, or the whole frickin' rest of the time I was *there*!!! arg. I felt bad..
But food was good, so that was cool, Megs and Mike and I talked awhile..
Walked around some more, went back to the apartment... Megs and I listened to some of the random obscure U2 stuff I had with me, and looked through some of the Zoo-era Propagandas she'd gotten, as well as her BP book (with some niiice Mackie pics, among others. guh. ^_^), and she gave me an LP of Rattle And Hum! yay! (She promised she'd give it to me awhile ago..cos she accidentally bought two copies. *g*) Ended up in the living room after awhile, and watched my Outside It's America tape...and gushed and swooned and re-wound to watch certain things multiple times over. (Like Lar making a kissy-face at the camera!!! *squee!!!* *giggles*) ^______^ Then we watched a bunch of her Motherlode-of-All-U2-Videos collection that she got hold of.. I *finally*, after *how* many years?? got to watch the video for "A Celebration"!!! YAAAAAY!!!! :D It's all '80s and cute babyU2 and ahhh! Lar was so *cute*!!! his hair was all long and pretty and he ran towards the camera and *squee!!!* And Bono? Dude. Had RED PANTS.
^_________^
(They weren't shiny, but they were very, very red. Frickin'...wow. SCORE!)
Other highlights were an *early* early live version of "I Will Follow" where lar's hair was *really* long and absolutely devestating, and they were all wonderfully cute... you don't realise until you watch a lot of BabyU2 consecutively just how much of a spazz Bono used to be..he's literally just like, flinging himself all over the stage! and it's ridiculous but adroable. ^_^ And Adam's hair was nuts but amusing and Edgelet!!!! so cute. ^___^
The video for "Happy Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" is *great*, Bono's all trying to serenade Edge, crooning into his ear, and Edge rolls his eyes and kicks him away!!! ahh!!! *laughs*
I dunno, bunches of other good stuff... so we were up 'til about 4am again. *g*

*yawn* Okay, enough for now... more later. ^_^

Arg. So, blogger decides to be on crack *now*??? when I actually have a few minutes and TONS to type up on here?!!? blahhhhh... >_<#
Tons soon... only it's refusing to publish my other posts and I can't make it behave. meh.

Aaaaaand, I'm home *again*! *laughs*
Wow. Phewph. What a weekend!
What'd I think of NYC?
BIG.
*giggles* No, really. Parts looked just liked Rochester, only, there was like, no end to it. Ever. Crazy. *g*

Sigur Rós was wonderful... <3

Megs, I loooooooove you!!!!!! ^_^

*yawns* Okay. So, more in full, later, when I'm semi-conscious again..or something...
