w007. I feel all accomplished now. *giggles* Made a fairly good dinner tonight, it's like whoa. Chili from scratch (tweaking the recipe a bit..an entire cup of chopped onion?? I don't think so. *giggles*), cornbread (which like, mega-poofed in the middle, but I think that's a common issue), and a decent dessert I randomly created, mixing yogurt with whipped cream, putting fruit and a lil dab of additional whipped cream on top. Was pretty good, and I'm like, *full* now, of like, real food, not just pre-possessed stuff that's been heated up..and I made it. ^____^ score.

So I don't have to babysit tomorrow turns out, but I'm working over at Pearce again tonight..and I am *doomed*. I am SO fecking sore today, it's not even funny. Cos mowing the neighbor's lawn on Wed. was the hardest mowing I've ever done in my life, the grass was like 4x the length I was mowing it down to, *and* it was soaked from rain, *and* it was raining, *and* the mower kept conking out on me cos of the retarded blade that's on there now that can't fecking cut grass properly. Then I mowed our lawn yesterday, *then* went to work.. work tonight, *and* monthly DOOM finally decided to show up today.

I am SO not moving tomorrow. Like at all. *giggles, shaking head*

..though I do plan on moving by Sunday, cos it's the chicken bbq, so I'll be there for whoever all else is going. ^_^ (Probably most of the day, esp. if the weather's good - will definitely be there during the sr. high groups, if ever my sister can figure out when they are.. and obviously for the 8th grade band cos that's Mel. *g*)

ganked from Megs' brother Sean's profile. *giggles* ..and I got the same result as he did, I'm not sure whether to be amused or scared. *g*
If you only knew the power of the dark side.
Postatem obscuri lateris nescitis.
"You do not know the power of the Dark
Side." There are two possibilities: you
are a Star Wars geek, or you are unreasoningly
scary.

Which Weird Latin Phrase Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Because it's late and I am therefore mad suseptable to very silly ideas. Ganking from Megs. *giggles, shaking head*

fingers: ananda daydream
nose: qnqnda daydream [lol brings new meaning to the term "hunt and peck"..*feels quite like a chicken*]
left elbow: ananda daydream [hey that wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be *g*]
tongue: ananda daydream [and I am SO glad I'm the only one to use this keyboard...]
right elbow: ananda daydream
foot: ananda daydream
eyes closed: ananda daydream

wow.

Ganked from Laur who ganked from Devon who I meant to gank it from ages ago but never got around to it. *giggles*

1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says.
"dressed, and put the blankets where they had"
O_o
That sounds SO wrong taken out of context, and it's from a friggin' Nancy Drew book. *giggling*

2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
lmfao I *can't* stretch it out all the way, I run into one of my cd towers first. (yes they're here with me in matt's old room..was sorting them out all in here while on the computer, and there isn't room for them in *my* room yet, due to mad tons of clutter. ^^;;; )

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
...
uhhhhmmm...
Whatever Britt and I watched last before leaving campu-- No, wait. Something stupid on Nick while babysitting. *giggles*

4. WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is.
uhm..probably close to midnight?

5. Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?
12.14am. w007. *giggles*

6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
The episode of Jem I'm watching. ^_^ "Intrigue at the Indy 500" *giggles* Amazingly, it's only about half as lame as I'd expected it to be. *g*

7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
About two and a half hours ago, was riding home from work over at Pearce. Nice night to ride, anyway. ^_^

8. Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
If this means online, then I was poking around this (very nice) Jem site, randomly seeing what she has up on ebay, now that I've exhausted her stash of episodes and songs I didn't have. *g*

9. What are you wearing?
pjs. tank top, pj pants ...and strawberry shortcake socks. *giggles* and my watch and bracelet from Megs as always. ^_^

10. Did you dream last night?
Yep, but I can't recall what now. I know it was long and complicated and involved, and probably would've made a great story if I could remember it.

11. When did you last laugh?
When, in another ep. of Jem, Riot started out in a band called Nirvana, as mentioned in the propr entry. *stiiiill giggling*

12. what is on the walls of the room you are in?
Absolutely fecking nothing, as Matt never decorated much anyway and at this point, isn't here.
There's an old fallout shelter sign on the closet door with some presumably biking-related stickers over it, if that counts.

13. Seen anything weird lately?
Yeah actually. Was out mowing the lawn today and a *woodchuck* ran across the road and over a neighbor's driveway. In Perry that'd've been more than normal, but here, it was like 'whoa *blink*'.
*laughs* It's terrible tho, Dad was walking by a few seconds later and I instinctively pointed it out to him..we were always told to in Perry, so he could figure out what holes they were using and all and try by any means to keep them out of our friggin' gardens. *giggles*

14. What is the word most often used in your vocabulary?
*considers* Well, technically, probably "like", but in my personal vocabulary.. at the moment, probably "omfg". *giggles* or something random like that.

15. What is the last film you saw?
uhm...
...
oh lol. It would be.. *pokes through files* "The Screaming Skull", via a downloaded ep. of MST3K, which I'm falling more and more in love with. *G*

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
At the moment? The Monkees dvd sets and Jem dvd sets. *giggles*
And I'd go on a friggin' spree and get all the cds I've been wanting and haven't had the money to get for the last, what, three, four years, I think my list's been building up for?
While listening to all my new cds, I'd go do a bit of research and figure out how best to do something productive with the money, like helping the AIDS epidemic in Africa. ^_^

17. Tell me something about you that I don't know.
uhm..that varies quite a bit with who's reading at the moment. *giggles* And there's not much that isn't known by at least one of Megs, Laur, Daf, Zinni, and my sister.
*thinking*
Well, no-one knows yet that I'm almost through posting everything from my first notebook onto my lj. *grins happily* It's like, less than ten more pages, I think.
..however, that still only gets me to like, March. *giggles* At this point, I'm starting to near the end of my *second* notebook. ^^;

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
I might have to go with Laur and say end world hunger. I have a hunch it'd solve more than we'd think, and it's still a far bigger problem than it ought to be.
..besides, if world hunger was ended, that'd mean all sorts of other things would have to happen, like wars not happening to stop food supplies, non-corrupt governments being in place, wealth being at least a little more evenly distributed, etc. ^_^ Happiness.

19. Do you like to dance?
DDR. *giggles happily* That's about it, at least that I'll do in public with lights on and stuff. ..though admitedly, anytime I *did* wind up at dances in school, I'd have a great time and not stop the whole time I was there. Provided the lights weren't on. (fecking evil Salvaggio and her crackheaded ideas.. let's leave lights on at a dance so teenagers can't go into a dark corner and have sex! because that's what they'll do. in the friggin' gym. with tons of people around.)

20. George Bush: is he a power-crazy nut case or someone who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?
I'd lean more towards doing something that needed to be done..though, uh, it's been a fair bit messier all 'round than it needs to've been.
Also, again, our reasons are wrong - we didn't go in *anywhere* to "free the people!" no. Afghanistan, we went in for revenge, cos we were pissed. Iraq, oil. This country's *never* gotten involved cos of anything but economics.
grr.
aaanyway...

..actually, on that note, a link I meant to put up, Boondocks made a point I've been aggrevated over for awhile now: http://www.ucomics.com/boondocks/2004/06/02

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
I have like, three lists of awesome names to consult before I answer that. *giggles* Something cool, but not something the poor thing'll get made fun of for.

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
I'm terribly attatched to Cadence, but I'm not really seeing that happening. *giggles* (And it is TOO a name, I found it in one of the babybooks. Anyway if Chris Martin and what's-her-name can decide Apple is a name, Cadence is a name. *g*)

(..*GRINS brightly at Megs* although, I have a son with at least one of our Lars, yeah? *G*)

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Yup. I don't know if it'll ever happen, but I'd definitely consider it. If I wasn't friggin' poor (and..I know how sad this is, but if I wasn't half-planning things around the timing of U2 touring -_-;;; ), I'd take a semester or so abroad. ..but there again, I dunno how well that'd work anyway cos as it is, I'm gonna be pulling strings to graduate on time, soooo...
Am definitely travelling at some point in my life though. Lots. It takes a lot to make me homesick, always has...

*canNOT stop laughing*
Episode #64 of Jem, which aired sometime around 1986 or '87.. Riot's flashbacking, and years back, he had seen a band called Nirvana playing, which gave him the kick he needed to leave the army and get back into music like he'd always wanted.

I know the chances of actual connection are slim to none, but just the idea of Nirvana..Jem..omfg. *diiiiiiies giggling*

[note: further watching gives sniplets of the band playing..nothin' in the least like the Nirvana we know. *giggles* but y'know.]

ok, so this is like doom.
Dad proposed to Beth the other day, cuteness hey yay whatever.
A few days before, he said that after much thought, they decided it'd work out best if we all moved into Beth's house once they were married cos there'd be room for all of us, they'd make rooms in the basement for Jeff and Kevin, Mel and I'd have our own rooms on the main floor.

I have WAY too much stuff to move and my house! my basement walls I painted, the gardens and my room and everything...

When we moved here, what, seven years ago, we were PROMISED we'd never move again.

..and I know it's probably childish to cling to that so strongly, seven years ago we had no idea my parents would divorce, let alone anything else, but..

Thank God the wedding'll be low-key, getting Mel and I into dresses period is hard enough, she flipped she's all "I'm not wearing one of those white frilly dresses!" *giggling* But Dad said like, he's getting a suit at most, he's not going all-out for a tux. So I think we're safe.

Anyway it'll be good practise for Megs' wedding, kind of easing into this whole concept. *giggling*

..is it bad that I put more importance on my best friend's wedding than my own Dad getting remarried? *giggles, shaking head*

...

my own Dad getting remarried.

all I'm gettin' with that is flashes of like, some babysitters club book or something, anytime I think about any of this, the divorce, anything, in the abstract, it's so totally like, unreal to me. I mean I obviously accept how things are and just kinda go along with it, but thinking about it too much, or so general like that..it's just strange to me.

..but whatever, I've gotta get to work. wheeeeeee.

omfg certain people need to remember that network = more than one person using the internet, therefore the router should *not* be randomly turned on and off without warning.
..and I still don't think the router's the root of all this trouble, chances are there was just too much bandwidth being used by uploads or downloads off one of the computers.
thankyou.

6.02.2004

*cries*
I hate it when the world conspires against me. First my sister decides to randomly keep poking at the router and kill my internet connection without warning, then I call Megs and her boy's gotten home in the 20 seconds I didn't check my ims from Megs, so calling her's rendered useless cos we can't talk when there're people about, sister kicks out internet again, then Lawrence blacks out on me!!!!! *whimpers*
The computer was still on, I could hear it running, the monitor light was on but it was all black, my music stopped playing.. so I came down here onto Rhonda, saw I was still on aim for a minute, but I couldn't access the computer through the network, then it kicked me off aim.
*siiiiiiighs heavily*
And I didn't knock any wires out cos I checked them and they were all tight.

..will go try rebooting in a few. meh. >_<

eeeeee and the cure's touring this summer! Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline'll be back at Darien this year, which's happy, Kingdom Bound's the ONE time it's worthwhile going to shows there, I think. ^^; and Chris Rice is coming back here - let's see if I can NOT be sick this time. *giggles*
and Sting's coming but..
*dry laugh* I'm poor.
very.

need to find cheap shows with good bands. and someone to drive me. 0:)

..the Church's been touring a fair bit lately, and it seems the Chameleons as well...I should check some dates and prices on those, if they come anywhere near it'd definitely be worth it. ^_^

meanwhile, saving for U2 shows next year. *giggles* and potential Sigur Rós shows - they've a new album in the works as well. ^_^

Sorry, Laur.. the Live Aid 2 you just messaged me about? fell through, it seems, not happening. You had me all mad excited, too. *giggles*

But Bono was at a summit tod--yesterday, in Dublin, talking to world leaders about Africa again. ^_______^

...heeeeey. *grins brightly* That means the new album really *must* be getting near done, if Edge and Lar and Ad let B out of the studio. *giggles*

It *is* the 20th anniversary of Live Aid this year, so B and everyone are gonna try to get things into the public eye again, using that as a springboard, so yay.

..history re-writes itself in interesting ways, though. In this article I read, they list some of the artists who were in the original Live Aid, back in '85.. "The simultaneous concerts in London and Philadelphia included performances by U2, Queen, Madonna and Elton John, raising millions for famine relief."

They list U2 first. But Live Aid was U2's first real international break, they were known but not like, huge before that..not before "Bad", and Bono leaping from the stage, running around security to dance with a woman in the crowd... *smiles* <3

..dude. *laughs* reading here, it seems this story started in 'The Sun'?! omfg friggin' moron people, don't believe tabloid magazines! *laughs* wowwww. but yeah, Bono: "At this point there are no plans for a Live Aid 2. It's always there in the background but right now, no. Right now we're after billions (of dollars) not millions. A Live Aid 2 would help, but it wouldn't fix the problem."

always reachin' higher... *smiles*

y'know what pisses me the hell off?

file-sharing snobs.

PEOPLE. omFg. File-sharing is by nature already ripping off companies and artists and things (to a degree). When you're out there sharing files, you're promoting the free distribution of these things - for peoples' entertainment, so people can hear more of your favourite obscure band, so hard-to-find movies or cartoons can be found and shared. It's COMPLETE fucking hypocrisy to be all file-sharing but then be selective about who you share with! I understand wanting to discourage leeches who download but won't share an ounce of their bandwidth with others, but come *on*. If you'll think back, be it a year or half a decade, you were once a n00b with no good files to share too. You had to build that collection up somehow - so you downloaded from people.
People who weren't so fecking stuck-up to only let you download if you could give them something back.
File-sharing is a form of charity, it's giving people things you have that they don't - it's not a fucking business. (Despite what certain ptb think.) It doesn't work that way. You wanna wheel'n'deal, fine, go off to ebay. Don't block my download just cos I haven't got something that suits your particular tastes.
Don't fucking list off my files back in my face and say "no-one wants these."

And don't assume everyone who hasn't a hundred videos to share is a fucking leech, either - sometimes there are legit problems, sometimes people *are* on slow connections and honestly can't spare the bandwidth, sometimes people *don't* keep videos on their computers cos they haven't the diskspace.

So don't just treat people like fucking leech scum if they don't have anything "good" to download. Fucking stuck-up bastards.

And don't go being all sweet to me once I tell you I've got files you like up, and don't you DARE fucking give me the name of someone else who'll put things up for me to download if I have something to give them. I'm sorry, I'm not in the practise of *bribing* people to let me download from them!

*thinks a moment, seeing if there's anything else to rant about*

*deep slow breath*

some people piss me the hell off. apologies for the language in the entry, things need to be said.
