Do NOT ever EVER EVER!!! ever sign up for anything called Ap9 or Shopping Essentials or that has those names anywhere remotely *near* the name of what you're signing up for. If you see either of those STOP and run far far away and keep the fuck on the backs of everyone 'til you're positive you're not being charged. And then keep on them some more.
After cancelling things asap with them, whihc took I think three seperate phone calls and reallylong schpiels about staying with them, I got ANOTHER charge from them on this month's bill. So I called AGAIN. And they said I'd accepted the membership for another motnh last time I called.
LIKE FUCKING HELL I DID.
So, calmly and politely, I sat through the very same schpiels again and turned them down quite insistently (though politely; I know it's not the fault of the person at the desk that their company is TEH EVIL!!11!1!1).
So here's hoping it fucking worked this time, I have the confirmation number written down again, and will find the old confirmation number when I'm back in Fredonia - I didn't have it on me today when I called, and they were like, well it says here you accepted membership and I laughed and said I did nothing of the sort. Good lord.
EvilevilevilSOevil. So I'm making sure no-one I know goes anywhere near them, because they're mean and evil.
You'd think I'd know how to spell the word "shroud" by now, with all the Phisto stories and dark/light imagery and everything else I've used so long. Good Lord.
Happy Thanksgiving, all. Mine's going well enough, dinner was wonderful, and there is still pie in the kitchen and there was realcheese and cranberry sauce. And lots of leftovers. And Tom told me how to make The Greatest Leftover Sandwich Ever, which I'm to try tomorrow.
..really, I'm glad I have so much writing to force myself to do this break, it's giving me a nice escape, so I don't get bored sitting around here, nor spend too much time moping about my boy being so miserably far away..meh.
BUT, I still have a shot at winning NaNoWriMo - I'm at 31,800 now, and if I write like 3k per day from now 'til the end of the month, I will reach 50k. So, basically a story per day, a little more.
As long as I don't run out of story ideas I'm golden.
*ignores fact that it took about 20minutes to get started into the latest story..*
Time magazine's taking votes for 2005 Person of the Year.
Bono is currently in second. \0/
(to jk rowling. who's in the lead by a ridiculous lot. but still.)
linkage just cos.
Alright, heading to bed soon..got a little caught up typing up some of my novel for this year.
Which directly leads to the following plug:
my 2005 nanowrimo.
As I say on there, updates will be a little sporadic while I finish hashing this thing out this month (wheeee I'm so behind! but less so than I wound up being
last year ^^; ), but they'll eventually be there, in all their barely-edited glory, full of run-on clumsy sentances and overuse of the words "soft", "gentle", "glittering", "light", and the usual.
No-one is under the least compulsion to check it out now - in fact, I'd prefer not everyone did, that way when I get the final version all put together, website and flash and drawings and edited stories and animations and sounds (I'm planning on this being my capstone for graduating college..so yeah, it'll be awesome, after a shitload of work), I'll have some people to test things out on. But comments on what I'm starting out with would be great too, I know I have plot issues. YAY short stories!
Heading off now, once I post the first story over there, g'night all~
