But the underdogs have CROC!!!!! *bounces about happily*

ide remember how we got hold of that demo all those years back.. was it off a cereal box or something? *giggles* no idea. but it's so CUTE! and it was SO fun and I adored.
and I want to play.
and now I can.

^_____________________^

*busily filling rhonda's harddrive with awesome-looking old, and now free, games* <3

so much for plug'n'play - tried using my usb drive on rhonda here?
first: rhonda conks out cos I moved the tower. after five days trying to get her to reboot properly..
second: error balloon pops up - I'm trying to use a hi-speed usb device in a non-hi-speed usb port. wtf.
third: as it attempts to find drivers and things, rhonda suddenly spasms and reboots.

fourth: after restarting, rhonda seems to be ignoring the thing altogether. :p

meanwhile, the band/choral picnic was very fun. ^_^ ..once I reminded Kevin it was *today*. *laughs* it was just before 2pm, I spotted him online, I'm like, uhm.. you've got two minutes to get here, y'know that right? and he's like my god it's today?? I'm like yeahhi. *giggles* but he picked me up and we talked and caught up some, which was cool, got there and hung out, found mead and rice and my sister&co.. michelle kmentt was there too which was happy. ^_^ only like, what, 4, 5 alumni total tho, it was rather sad. and the only one I knew besides alumni and mel&co was glenn.
but it was fun, hung out with kevin and some people he knew (this chick, forget her name, was like hanging all over him and I was like uhmmmmm... *laughs, shaking head* but really tho. I was fine, perfectly fine. and then he sang a little and I almost passed out but otherwise, I was fine and over him still! *laughs* gooodness..)... then Kevin left early cos he was going out to dinner, so I hung out with my sister and devon and people, and it was fun, walked down the pier, they added to the graffiti on the lighthouse (such as it is..more like a really thick pole *giggles*), took a few pictures... came back and found Mead in midst of hunting for pennies in the sand (which's one of the games that gets played a lot)...with a metal detector. *laughs*
so I went over and yelled at him. *giggles* it was fun.
but yeah, it was a good day, it was pretty windy but overall, pretty nice out. ^_^
afterwards, devon's mom picked us all up, and we stopped at party city for awhile to scout out costumes.. only Devon took the one I was thinking about getting. *giggles, pouts* but it's ok cos I don't know if it would've quite fit me anyway, it fit her perfectly and she's littler than me. they had some other cool ones tho, around $30, just these cool goth-y dresses...I think mel and I are both doing goth-like things, but probably in different ways...we were both thinking hot topic, really, but in the end? I think that'd cost more, getting a bunch of stuff there. ^^;

but there were sooo maaany preeeetty wiiiiiings.. *____* I wanted. even tho I already have. *giggles*

really, I really want to do a phisto-thing..not so much Mackie, neccesarily, but like, the phistos in the drawings I did last semester... only, that'd take a lot more time than I have left to put the costumes together, as well as fabric-shopping and planning and all, which, really, just wouldn't be quite feasible this year.
but if I save it for next year..I can start on it any time between now and then, and make something *really* cool. ^_^

Megs'n'Mike are at the Beastie Boys' concert right now, so I'm just kinda hanging around.. really tired, might conk out early tonight, once she gets in..

was playing piano for awhile, wish I was better at it..never was good at hitting all the notes in chords evenly...

Heading home around 5ish, will be back sometime Sunday, and I think I'm going to let Lawrence sleep and rest up while I'm gone, he's been rather cranky lately. *cuddles the poor overworked dear*

Also, will be at the annual band/choral picnic on Saturday afternoon. ^_______^ S'all good yo, imed Kevin and he said he'd go as this meant there'd be a fellow 2002er there to talk to, so he's picking me up around 2pm, it'll be just like old times. *giggles* whee.
(Only not cos he'll be like the only one I know there, him, the teachers, and mel&co, but that's ok. Provided the weather's nice, I can wander about taking pictures and writing in my notebook to my heart's content should Kevin get hung up talking with people I don't know, which happens a lot.)
(*laughs gently* and I remember a time when that would have never even been conceivable, him being such a popular guy.. but he deserves to be, he's sweet and fun as ever. ^_^)
(and no I'm not still in love with him. :p )

okso I lied.
*re-reading "Until the End of the World"*
*and completely caught up, having nearlycried twice now..*

*laughs gently* did I really write this, and two, three years ago, at that? the year I spent working and re-working this was well-spent..... again, there are things I would re-work, the writing itself could be so much better now...but the emotion is there, bound into every phrase, there's not a single bit that's not laden with something heartwrenching, something so clear and full... nothing extraneous, a story, in all that a story can be...

Going home today, for the first time since August. ^_^ yay.
Band/choral picnic is this weekend, and turns out I *will* know people there - my sister & co. are going.
^________________^
If they don't kill me for it, I'm going to tag along and teach them how to pick on Mead, in preperation for next year. *g* Tradition needs to continue.

Not much news to give, really..
We're going to get a cat - like, really this time. *G* Britt and her dad are friends with one of the head-people at Lollypop, so we can get around paperwork, s'all good.
(I *still* think we should, the four of us, just sit down and talk with Norm, I think we've a good chance of convincing him..but Justin was so down on the idea, Meghan has to back him up, and Britt's not said anything about it in awhile..and I'm the odd one out all the time anyway.)
But this is extra-good cos we're cutting back on letting our visitor-kitty stay inside.. he slept in here two nights in a row again, and Meghan saw one of the owners outside one day..while the cat was sitting on our front porch. ^^;
So the poor lil kitty's curled up on my bed, sleeping peacefully and purring away, and Meghan'n'Britt decide to go all-out paranoid spastic that the owners know we let the cat in and all this.. to the point where, when the phone rang, they first let the machine get it, then made ME go get it when it rang again. e_e; Then they scooped the kitty and put him outside.
(A few hours later, I heard him meowing on the back porch - he's figured out how to get in through one of the glass-less windows, but he can't get back out of the porch unless one of us opens that back door or let him in. So I went in and consulted with Britt, and we decided to let him in, just for the night. Kitty slept at the foot of my bed that night, all purring and content, and kept my toes warm. *giggles* Surprisingly, he actually hasn't showed up again yet that I know of..so we'll see.

Went around town photo-spazzing a little the other day, cos the leaves are all changing and it's gorgeous out.. and I was waiting for my laundry to be done anyway, so I needed something to do. *g*
Also went back to the town library, cos my (renewed) books were due... picked up another five or six, which is probably too many for what spare time I have again, but one was The Giving Tree, which's very short, so maybe I'll manage this time. *g* Two angel-related books, The Princess and the Goblin (which I know I read once, but it was so long ago I barely remember it..just that it was good *g*), and something else that I'm forgetting. *giggles*

Signed up for NaNoWriMo this year.. and I know full well my chances of actually pulling it off are slim. *giggles* Between my brief attention span on any one project, and the fact that the longest thing I've written is..lessee.. well, the Mackie fic I'm currently running by people to see if it's done? yeah that's like, 8,800 words. "Until the End of the World (On the Edge of Forever)" is the longest thing I've *ever* written, and that took me a year, *and* that was a few years ago, back before I was as nit-picky as I am about my writing now. And that's.. *opens file, tho is still too scared to read it just yet* ... *laughs* 15,000 words, assuming that it's not counting all the little line-break things I flung in and all, and including the intro-bit (though not including the author's notes).
*relents and skims a little*
o_o
whoa...
...y'know? this might actually still be *good*.
^_________^
That makes me very happy.
..I can see places already where the writing style is a lot less mature, but at the same time..there are places where it's already wonderful. That makes me so happy. ..and I know that the story as a whole is still good, it's still probably the best *story* I've done so far, it actually *is* a story, with elaboration and a climax and everything. *giggles* Probably the *only* one with all that.

*_____*

wow. I *really* like this! *laughs* goodness.

...this story, I promise to come back to, when I've cleared my head of all the other thousand things I'm working on right now...it deserves an update.
It deserves everything I've got. *smiles*

//end wanna-be-writer rambling

So, I finished Faust, and it was very good. The ending was a little disappointing, but then it *is* a tragedy... I with it had been drawn out maybe a little more, but that's just me, I'm not good at endings anyway. *g* Still want to read through another translation or two at some point, the one I had was from the 1930s, I'd like one a little older I think, although this one was still very good.
As my one class was cancelled yesterday, I had a good three hours between my classes, instead of the usual hour and a half, so after eating lunch outside and wandering about with my camera a bit, I was a little chilly and headed inside. Up on the third floor of the library, there's a 'quiet study area', the room has a name but I forget what it is.. it actually has like, *real* furniture in it, old and wood and very nice, as well as a few painting and things. The room as a whole? really doesn't work. *laughs gently* You've got this gorgeous old furniture, an old colourful rug under the sofa of dark carved wood and gold cushion, all this, in a room with walls of cement and thin, drab dark carpet on the floor, everything as industrial as the rest of the newer campus buildings. And the paintings..really don't help, they're a little varied.
But it's the closest thing I've found to a nice cozy little library room, and I do like the furniture, the sofa, large mirror with thick wooden frame, round table with a golden-metal center covered in intricacies, and small lounging chairs which line the one end of the room, are just enough old and phisto-ish enough to give me someplace nice to curl up and write and things.
So there, I finished Faust, and went looking around for Dante.. unsuccessfully, as I hadn't checked on the computers to find out what numbers Dante would be, and I can*not* for the life of me figure out how things are sorted up there. I mean I know it's by category, but I haven't the faintest what said categories are, what numbers are within them, and what categories what I want fit into anyway. ^^; Happily, however, I stumbled across the Milton section, and grabbed a copy of Paradise Lost. (And in there, so far, seems to be the culmination of every bit of angel-lore out there, and then elaborated on.. <3 <3 <3) Read that for awhile, occasionally resting my eyes a bit, though I couldn't quite fall asleep. Eventually, I headed out...and on my way past rows of books to get to the stairs, I was glancing over to see what was in that aisle...
And found Dante.
*laughs*
So I sifted through all the books of critique and found The Divine Comedy, in all its parts, and grabbed The Inferno. <3

Decided to read the Dante before the Milton, as the former influenced the latter. (And, admitedly, cos the Dante's easier to read, at least in this translation..I wanted to ease into my subject matter a little. There's soooo so much in the Milton for me to digest, and I'm only a little ways into it yet.)

So yay for reading. *g* I have angels and devils to my heart's content, and it's all putting enough ideas into my head that I might *actually* be able to hit that 50,000 words next month.
(yeah right. *laughs* goodness..)

Also been working like mad on my flash project for class.. we did a group critique the other day, and.. yeahhh. I'm so near the bottom. It makes me very, very sad. Granted mine has more detail than some, and that, as usual, is undoubtedly my downfall. But considering this is the first I've used flash, and I'm still incredibly new at drawing things on the computer.. I s'pose I'm doing alright. And I know it'll be cool if I can get it all to work together properly..
It's just getting it there. -_-;
I have no clue how to get the main thing it's supposed to do to work.
...actually I have *an* idea now, it's a little odd but it *might* work...hopefully it does, cos it's taken me like a week to figure out *this*. bah.
Thank goodness it's due Wednesday, and not Monday - Lawrence doesn't get on with Flash very well, there's no way on earth Rhonda will. ^^;

*laughs* Right, so much for not having much to post... going now, cos I need to clean and things before Dad gets here.

Internet's having mad fecking issues AGAIN. Been out since sometime last night, wheeee~~~
x____x;

I *did* spot a random little channel of wireless info a few times though, so I wonder if tech-support-guy's first guess was right and there's something interferring with our signals.

...of course, not that I'd have the faintest of what I'm actually supposed to do about that. bah.

Will call support again tomorrow if it's not back by then.. 'til then, e-mail and I'll read it when I'm on campus, or, y'know, calling's always good. ^_^ (716.672.5349. Megs, feel free to use the calling card, as you're the reason it has time on it. *snuggles* ^_^)
