So, went on madlong bikeride this evening.. it was really nice. Went into town, planning on stopping in at a few antique stores, but they'd already closed by the time I got there, so I went into the old cemetary again (Pioneer Cemetary is the name of it, I discovered), walked around and ate a sandwich I'd brought for lunch/dinner/something, took a few more photos.. tried - and failed - to chase down this little chipmunk scampering around the misplaced gravestones piled up near the back corner..guess he's camera-shy like me. *g* From there, took kind of a roundabout way back past campus, rode out behind D&F Plaza..and sadly, that pile of old shopping carts I'd wanted to get a shot of was gone. *pouts* *giggles* But there was this awesomely terrible bright aqua wall with a rusted old door in the middle of it, and the colours and texture of the door kicked ass. *g* So I stopped to take pics.. and there was an obnoxious crow, but he looked cool perched atop the electrical pole against the sky so there's a shot of him as well. *giggles* But I was standing there trying to get a good angle on the door and *not* get my shadow in the shot and like two random men popped out of a back door to the building and were watching me and it was like, ehm, hi? and the one guy was like, you taking those for insurance reasons? and I'm like, nah, art student. (Best excuse/explanation/getting out of looking like a moron *ever* for aaaanything random like taking pics of a door. *giggles*) Took a few more shots, had to change my film, random guy talked a little more, I was like whatever... oddly enough, it didn't even really bug me too much. Headed out from there, rode around back to Temple and followed that alllll the way out to the end of it. Stopped between two sets of railroad tracks some way back, and walked along them a bit, taking pictures.. cos I've never really walked around on tracks before, they're wider and easier to balance on than I'd thought, actually.. *g* Rode all the way to the end of Temple, which leads to Route 5, which runs kindamostly around Lake Erie. Followed that a ways, stopped on a bridge that went over where Canadaway Creek runs into the lake, cos it was really pretty.. took some pics, and an elderly couple walked past me.. I asked them if there was a road that ran down to the lake, they told me there was one not far ahead.. went down that way, and was greeted by THREE 'no trespassing' warnings. >_< So, rooode and rode past a golf course past a waste management plant and whatever else... fiiinally found a road that turned to the right, towards the lake, took it, was delighted to find access to the beach (such as it was..about ten feet between seaweed-filled water and concrete walls that braced the land behind that houses sat atop) without evil signs. *g* Parked my bike, walked down...
...and it literally took my breath away. The sun was getting low over the water, the light was so golden and the water so perfectly blue... it was amazing. The colours everywhere and the light and--- ghee. So I took looots of pics, then sat down and ate a little and wrote a bit while waiting for the sun to drop a little farther, cos I knew the sunset'd be incredible. It *reeked* down on the beach, whether from the seaweed or the probable outpouring from the waste management plant not far or the (three, that I saw) dead fish laying about, I dunno, but.. *laughs* I can deal with bad smells well enough, esp. for something that gorgeous. And the lake'd been my goal all day, so... *g* Before long, the sun sank a few more degrees, and...... I've never seen such a perfect sunset, I don't think. I mean, they're *always* gorgeous and amazing, but this..... I had a clear view all the way across the lake, the light reflecting on the ripples and slight waves of the perfect cerulean water, the sky and its reflection in the water a perfect vivid rainbow..... not like, a faded rainbow like the sky usually is, the colours were so *rich*, like I've never seen......
So, yeah, we're getting this film developed asap.
^_____^
Couldn't wait for the sun to drop all the way onto the horizon, cos I wanted to get back before dark fell, and as it was 7.30 already (I'd left from WilliC somewhere probably about 5, a little before), I figured I'd best get going. Rode back, took Willow down to Temple and got back, mm, a bit after 8, I think.
So awesome, awesome day, and holy feck I started this entry like SIX HOURS AGO! *laughs* ..not that it took me that log to write, but Megs was on and it's a slash-night, so I've been a weeeee bit preoccupied, what with myself and megs and all our babyU2s *and* Mackie having a big get-together in the closet. *g* (And in-bubble me being asleep at this point, guuuuhhed into oblivion by Megs' LilLar whom I'm still all curled around. *giggles* gheeeee....)

oooo *drooooool*
blogger finally added in something they promised awhile ago:
you can change the time and date of your posts.
^____^
and a draft option, which's also pretty cool. sweeeeet.

anyway, hi. *laughs* There's been plenty blog-worthy this past week, but along with blog-worthy things happening comes the fact that these things are *happening* thus I'm doing them and am not sitting in front of my computer bored. *giggles*

so, lessee, to recap...
- Britty, Erica, and I all tried out for Some Like it Hot, Fredonia's female a cappella group. The majority of our suite came along with for moral support, and listened to us sing, and testified that all three of us did *wonderfully*...and despite our pre-audition jitters, each of us knew we did well (I sang *out*, whaaaaat??? *laughs* but the acoustics in the room were great and I was singing "Still Haven't Found" so it was good)...but only Britty made callbacks (though I'd never heard back, Britt asked when she went in just to make sure). She heard tonight that she didn't make the cut, but.. *shrugs* There's always next year, for one; for another, Some Like it Hot *sucked* last year.. and also, the way auditions were held I don't think were really quite apt for a group that's supposed to specialise in harmonies. *shrugs* But we're alright, all a bit disappointed at first, but y'know.
- I had a successful (for me) encounter with a random hotguy. Went to the library to study for my music history exam, there was only one cd free, and myself and this guy who'd been waiting awhile for it..and he let me listen to the cd with him, we got a second set of headphones..and they didn't work, so we just passed back and forth the one set we had. He'd had a class with this professor before, and knew what to expect, so was giving me tips like just writing down the first few words of a song to identify it, since we could use our notes anyway... and he was really nice and really cute and he made eye contact and talked to me and I talked some and it was really cool. *smiles* ..and he said he'd seen me before in class and it was nice to actually meet me. So I came outta there like, half-dancing back to the dorm, and jumped about and spazzed and generally flipped out. *giggles like mad* It was insane. Then I went in for the test next morning, and I couldn't even manage to catch his eye at all, when he was turned mostly-towards me, sooo... *laughs* Ah well. The important thing: I discovered that I'm not actually invisible, and someone talked to me and I to them and it was interesting. *g*
- I painted our suiteroom window with window-markers. I drew our suite mascot Stanley (Britty's purple inflated dinosaur with pink spots), and a randomprettyboy with wings, and Good Luck Bear just cos CareBears are great. *giggles* And our suite number and we all wrote our names. (Sadly, today, I realised - Britty's markers SUCK and CHANGED FECKING COLOURS in the sun - Good Luck Bear is now ORANGE, and my randomprettyboy is like, red, instead of blue. >_<#)
- We also put up some random extra posters in our suiteroom, and are plotting further decoration.
- There's a very pretty computer-geek boy who sits in front of me in psych, and AdamBoy2 who lately sits next to either him or me. I have yet to summon the courage to talk to either of them, but I very nearly did today, and AdamBoy at least noticed me - progress, since he spends most of the class with his head buried in his arms. *giggles*
- Britt and I rode into town one afternoon, *finally* went into that music store on Temple Street I've meant to check out since before I got here *last* year--! *laughs* And it's awesome in there.. we ran into Josh and Laura's roomie Chrissy, and Josh told us there were a whole mess of $1 cds...which cemented it, we were going. *g* So we poked around for awhile and found toooons of great stuff, each got like six cds each, a few of which we got just cos they looked or sounded interesting, though we knew nothing of the bands.. and then it was awesome cos the cds we got were *great* - Color is pretty good, and Serene I listened to for hoooours... also nabbed an R.E.M. single <3 <3 <3.. "Bittersweet Me" which I've listened to for like, *days*. After the music store, we rode in to this random little store of randomstuff that was closing, poked around cos it was all on sale.. I ended up getting this like, big-chain necklace, not like huge, but.. it's *veeery* like the one that Bono and Adam wore back around Boy. (which yes, is why I got it. *laughs*) ^_____^ From there, we rode like mad and were a bit late but went to the movie theatre to see "The Order"...and oh my *goodness*. It was so incredibly awesome... if you haven't seen it, really, do, it's incredible. (merani, that means you - I think you'd really like it.)
- I've gotten totally obsessive and spastic over this show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which Britty (who else?) got me into... ghee. it's awesome tho. You've got these five gay guys who make over a straight guy and like his apartment and set him all up for a party or something, it's sooo cute and great. And Kyan is fecking....guuuuuuh. *_* (Two desktops so far over on Desert Songs *g*) And they're all clingy and touchy and cuuuute and have arms around each other and little hugs or kisses and they're so adorable. *G*
- We've definitely been like, overloading on cuteslashyboys and things in general lately.. really, it started I think with Megs sending me to the preeeetty bathboys (desktop, again, on DS *laughs*..also a link to the original pics there..head to misc. desktops). And then from the pics on that lj to Placeeeebo *droool* and slashy Placebo and Placebo and David Bowie and guuuhfeckinghot David Bowie and the usual weekend bout of slash with Megs and Britt sending me pics of Kyan and the rest and all these random other hot guys to make desktops with and me finding and falling in love with Kaze to Ki no Uta and everything else... gheeee. ^__^ And then Erica called Britt and I over as she poked around porn sites but y'know...it's just *icky*. *laughs* (And yes you're hearing this from me. *giggles* But really, it is.. eww.)
- And I've been doing MAD TONS of desktops. *laughs* Nickel Creek and James Taylor for Erin, Kyan and about ten other things requested by Britt (Kyan's the only thing I've gotten to yet), an Audrey Hepburn one for Haruna, and then for myself David Bowie and Ewan and Chameleons and Placebo and U2 and Kaze to Ki no Uta and---- yeah. New brushes and lots of gorgeous pics as inspiration. ^_^
- Spent Sunday afternoon in the small, old cemetary in town, drawing for an art assignment, but also just drinking it in and taking photos and things.. it was a gorgeous afternoon, it's a beautiful small cemetary, and the stones are so old..... I don't know, I just really, really love old cemetaries, for a number of reasons, half of which I can't put words to... So the thing I'm working on that came out of that is gonna look really, really cool. I think. I hope. *crossing fingers*
- My first full-sized thing from drawing ii is on the wall out in the hallway outside the classroom. ^______^
- Been writing a lot.. bits and pieces of fics, I've only just started back in on "In One Man's Eyes" (the long-overdue Adam/Edge for Megs), have done bits of a few things from Bono's pov (one where he's angsting sometime shortly before the release of October..about the band, Edge maybe leaving, losing lyrics, his own uncertainties about everything; the other's a Bono about my age wandering about Trinity College, so far just thinking about the campus and being there though he can't really be, and how much he's learned just out on the streets and all..not sure where it's going or if it's any good, but it keeps me awake in psych *g*)... and mostly have just been *writing*, half-poems and closer-almost-poems and maybe-poems and nothing-really-like-poems. *laughs* I don't even know... most of it's shite, some of it's fairly good..
- Flute auditions consisted of a whopping *2* of us.. so I'm one of three in the first row (one girl wasn't even there but was randomly placed up with us and gets the solos when the first doesn't want them so I'm allll confused), and Principle 2nd..which at first explanation was like, co-chair, but now sounds more like I'm heading up the 2nds. Tho I sit up front. So I've no idea, but band is fun cos I talk to people and play and the music's decent and the director's awesome. ^_^ (Schneider, whom I had for aural theory last year..yeah..'member him? Canadian, fairly young, good-looking, funny... gah. *laughs* But he's great fun, and a *really* great director, so it's good. ^_^)
- And mostly, have just been hanging around with my friends and chatting online with Megs and enjoying gorgeous nights and everything. It's really great, cos our suite's really come together in the past week or so, we're all friends now and hang out constantly and throw beachballs around the hallway or talk and go everywhere together, and it's really, really cool. ^_^

And fecking hell did this entry get long! *laughs* Was gonna post up a few of my scribblings, but I'm sleepy and def. need to type/write some more of "One Man's Eyes"...and this oughta be enough to keep y'all satisfied for a bit. *g*
