So, Mom found this super-cool thing where you can catalogue out all your books (quickly and easily, too - just punch in some title and it searches amazon and basically the world to fill it all in). LibraryThing! You can check out everyone else's lists, see what else people who read things you like also read, and all sorts of coolness.
Did I mention it's free? It's free. Up to 200 books, anyway. More than that, it's $10/yr or $25 forever.

I'm working my way through my bookshelf here - which's maybe a fifth or so of everything I own, given that most of my stuff is at home, but just as well, cos it'll take a while to get even this much punched in.

I have a lot of books.

Bought a movie on Ebay last night, I'd had $10 sitting around in my paypal account from a survey site for awhile, and was thinking of.. actually, I thought I was thinking of one movie, but I was sort of combining two, which made it very hard to figure out the title of again. ^^; I realised later I should have bought Unico, as it pops up on ebay now and again as well, but, next time. *G* The one(s) I was thinking of were both these old Japanese animated ones, that were actually more of Disney-style..
They're listed on here (part of the site for a fansubbing group that does a lot of series I like), which's where I think I first heard of them. The one I bought is The Legend of Syrius (though they changed the name for the US release to The Sea Prince and the Fire Child; the other one I was thinking of was Orpheus of the Stars. Very hard to find information on either, but the Sea Prince and the Fire Child looks really beautiful, from a few fan sites I found, I'm really excited. \0/

...crap, and now I've gone and found the above linked site for Unico that has SCANS OF AN ARTBOOK OMFG!!!! *flips out* I need. I need I need. I think I'm almost up to another $10 in my paypal through that one survey site, I'll do that. omg I need.
I saw it when I was really little, maybe 4 or 5, and I had only vague memories of it for years... wasn't until about five years ago that I was able to find out what it was even called. It was Unico in the Island of Magic that I saw, and it was both incredibly beautiful and incredibly creepy. On some site somewhere, there are a couple of video clips, and the people getting turned into wooden block-like puppets still creeps the shit out of me. Oh I want to see again, so badly...

Also, factories + people whose bodies don't cope well with hot, heavy air = no.

Factories + people with a history of passing out = no.

...I'm ok, I was just right on the borderline of being very not ok about six hours in to working on the production line itself today (which's where I was originally supposed to be assigned, not where I was yesterday). And you know it takes a lot for me to take a not feeling well so seriously. This was like, losing proper vision, coordination, and thought as well, it.. was not good. Really felt I couldn't breathe, and really.. ugh. It was just bad. So, I told them I felt sick, my body couldn't handle it there, sorry but goodbye.

However, I have such a renewed vigor for proper job-hunting, you would not believe. ^^;; Starting that soon's I wake in the morning.

Until then: pjs, chocolate, photoshop+wacom. Then making a nice dinner for Tom, who's going to be worried shitless, though I left him a note that explained more than I did before I left. (As it was, he was really upset this morning, and he realised it was because I had to be doing factory work..he felt like it was his fault, which it's not at all, but... he's going to be feeling really miserable and worried right now and I'm worried.)

...meanwhile, we've both been paaaacing since we got up today. First day of work, and though, I mean, it's temporary factory work, I'm sure it won't exactly be beyond our capacity, we're both reallyreally nervous.

On top of that, my first full-time job starts on the same day as monthly doom. >______<; This is going to go well...

Oh, but, we went to WalMart and bought rain coats yesterday, so no worries there. I also bought myself a gift of the pretty special edition of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Oh so happy. <333 We watched last night and Tom really liked it, which made me happy.

 
Phewph. Well that was confusing.. Note to anyone coping with student loans in future: Make phonecalls prior to going out in the rain some distance to the bank you thought you'd have to deal with.

Luckily, this is what I did. I'd thought I'd have to bring things to M&T, as I remember we set things up to go through there.. but as it's pouring rain again today, I figured I'd call first and find out what I'd have to bring, or, hope against hope, I could do some on the phone. They told me they don't handle it there, to talk to my lender.
So, confused, I called the financial aid office at Fredonia, and the very friendly woman there told me it's run through nelnet, and gave me their number. Called, was on hold awhile, and then got things all set up through the phone and then their website. So yay! My loans are consolidated before the evil rate hike of doom! \0/

So it's only, y'know, just shy of $16,000 over my head (plus an eventual $5000 or so in interest, grr). But I'm still in my grace period until November, and even leaving it at the standard repayment rate, it's like $125/mo, which I'll be making in like half a week at the ice cream factory (and by November, I should have something better).

DO NOT FEAR STUDENT LOANS! I'm finding out they're really not that scary, they're meant to be friendly and reasonable. Which's good.


...I start work tomorrow. I'm nervous and worried and not at all sure how I'm going to cope with a 9-hr workday, when I've never worked more than.. well, rather, there was that one day I was sole custodian on-duty at Pearce, I think I was there for like probably 6 hours or something. But at least then I could wander around the building and amuse myself and things. Meh.

WE GOT WORK!!! *dances* Temp agencies officially rock. Tom and I are working a 2.30pm-11pm shift at a local ice cream factory, starting WEDNESDAY HI. WOOOOOO INCOME!!! \0/ (And this is an interim thing - they're looking for better jobs for us, including office and computer art!! jobs for me.)

Also: Yahoo! Photos, of all places, won, and has free UNLIMITED photo storage. oh yes. So all of my Disney (and soon other) pictures are the-- actually I should take pictures of the apt., I keep forgetting. Those'll be there too, soonish. (Or, y'know, people can visit us. Really! Please! Company = awesome. Everyone has a standing invite, from both Tom and I. I mean it.)

Dad and Mel visited on--- lmao yesterday, wow. That was very good. :) I got my cookbooks and some dishes and Dad bought us groceries and a lunch. And Mel bought random diet gum that disintegrated and said you'll lose weight if you eat less and exercise. Oh, and if you eat the gum.

It's mad fecking huuuumid here today, like deadly. And it poured rain on one of the bike rides back from the temp agency. And I was in this cute lil white shirt...
And I got cat-called, by some assholes in a passing dump truck. grrrr. >_<#

Feeling better now though. I need to make dinner, I think I'm finally hungry, heh.
