So, this past week was insanely busy, and next week promises to be the same - apologies for my online absenses again. Mel came down for a visit the beginning of this week, which was fantastically fun (except that we were reviewing each others' erotic poems in creative writing that day..oops -_-;; ), so that was happy. Wednesday, there was a poetry reading my Jeffrey McDaniel, whose book we're going through in creative writing and whose stuff I really like, so that was pretty great, though, as expected, I made a bit of a fool of myself when I went up to get my book signed - just didn't really know what to say.. Right after that, had a workshop on 3d animation, which..is really much, much less intimidating than I'd thought, the programs make it pretty managable. Thursday was Tom's'n'my first year anniversary.. ^___________^ After classes (Jeffrey McDaniel came in to do a craft workshop, which was really cool), Tom and I spent the afternoon all snuggled up contentedly watching Star Trek, went to Applebee's for dinner, braved the snow and wind and got a few movies from Blockbuster (this was a huge feat considering the weather and me being in heels, ehm..we'll not even go there), VAP with a pretty cool photographer (Jon Holloway), then came back and watched a movie.
Yesterday and today were spent working on drawings for Beneath the Dust - two of the four walls are verynearly done, drawn out in great detail with charcoal..on the huge 2x3' paper of doom.
And I've rubbed an index finger raw. ^^;;
So, taking a break, and leaving to go see Haruna in
The Glass Menegerie in a little bit - she's got the role of Laura, which's one of her dream roles, and I'm so, so excited for her. ^________^
Meanwhile, been picking up some more mixes off
ocr, but also began looking at
remix.kwed.org, which's full of remixes of Commodore 64 games.. and they're all pretty sweet. So that's exciting. Also wound up subscribing to a few podcasts on old computers and mod files and remixes and wonderfulness, started listening to those today, and it's happy.
And I want
this guy's basement. Damn.
But yeah.. am behind schedule on Beneath the Dust (surprise there.. spent like 5-6 hours researching on handwriting and fonts alone the other night), and have a video project due within the next couple of weeks as well - just realised it's to be 90% done later this week, and all I've done is shot the initial footage and gotten that into digital form (which in itself took far more work than it should've for no reason I could find). So, radio silence from fredonia again for awhile... keep an eye on
the blog for Beneath the Dust though, will probably fling up the drawings soonish.
